Paul Andolina, marketing and commercial director of the vineyard, will be pouring six of his favorite wines, including the vineyard’s famous Ribolla, a Chardonnay blend, and its classic Sangiovese.

Andolina will educate participants about his home country of San Marino and the country’s incredible wines, which he says comes from its unique selection of grapes, such as Biancale and Ribolla.

“We like to bring in unique wines to educate wine drinkers and introduce them to new wine regions,” says Trish Digliodo, president of Vidalco Wines SC.

San Marino is a small country, with only 25 square miles and 500 acres of vines. It is no small feat to produce such fabulous wines on so little land, especially wines that compete with the high quality wines of Italy.

“I’m looking forward to learning about the different grapes from different regions and why they make each wine unique,” says Bridget O’Leary, a senior at College of Charleston, who just turned 21.

O’Leary is one of many who plan to attend Vidalco’s wine tasting and learn about San Marino. There are no tickets to the tasting; just pop into Goat.Sheep.Cow.

Not only wine-lovers are excited about this opportunity to expand their palate, but local organizations are also looking forward to making possible connections.

Madeline Pearse, the president of the College of Charleston Cheese Club, works closely with Goat.Sheep.Cow and hopes this wine tasting will teach her about wine and cheese pairing and possibly find a wine ally.

“I know less about wine than cheese so I think a wine tasting would be quite the adventure,” she says. “I would love to attend one and I look forward to lots of wine and cheese in my future.”
